UW-LA CROSSE
The Eagles turned the ball over 5 times and gave up running plays of 95 and 98 yards in their 33-20 loss to East Texas Baptist. UW-STOUT
The Blue Devils struck first in overtime, but missed the extra point in their 14-13 loss at Black Hills State. UW-S rushed for only 49 yards and 1.6 yards per carry. QB Ross Carey went 27 for 44 for 249 yards and 2 TD's, but was sacked 7 times. Defensively, Stout held BHSU to 83 yards rushing and 189 yards of total offense.

UW-STEVENS POINT
After taking a 14-0 lead, the Pointers surrendered 27 first half points en route to a 33-14 loss at home to the Willamette Bearcats. The Bearcats intercepted two passes deep in Pointers territory in that stretch, leading to scoring drives of 16 and 28 yards. UW-SP was outgained on the ground 277-155. The Pointers turned the ball over 4 times in the loss. UW-SP QB Casey Barnes was injured in the third quarter and did not return.

UW-RIVER FALLS
The Falcons rushed for 243 yards, but were held to 1 yard in a crucial 4th and 2 on the Ohio Northern 14 yard line with just over 6 minutes left in the game. There was no more scoring after that in the UW-RF season opening 35-21 loss. In the third quarter, ONU recovered a fumble on the Falcons 6 yard line leading to a touchdown. On the very next drive, ONU intercepted a pass in their own end zone to thwart a Falcons threat. UW-RF rushed for 243 yards on 5.9 ypc in the loss.

UW-OSHKOSH
The Titans lost their opener on the road to Central College 34-28 in a game that saw the QB for each side lead his team in rushing. UW-O was outgained on the ground 183-89 as they only managed to gain 2.6 ypc against the Dutch defense. Both defenses had a hard time getting off the field as UW-O was 9 of 16 and CC was 10 of 16 in converting on third down. A Central College fumble was the game's only turnover.
