MEET THE DAKOTA STATE TROJANS

General Information
Dakota State University is located in Madison, South Dakota. The Trojans were picked to finish 7th in the 8 team Dakota Athletic Conference (NAIA) in a preseason coaches poll. Coach Josh Anderson is entering his second season. The Trojans were 2-7 his first year.

Last Week
DSU hosted Midland Lutheran of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (NAIA) last week and fell behind 28-0 by halftime en route to a 38-7 loss. UW-Whitewater defeated Midland Lutheran 58-0 in the second game of the season last year.

In their season opening loss last week, DSU was outgained 306-61 on the ground. QB Paul Bagala was 15-40 for 173 yards an 3 interceptions.

The Roster
The Trojans return 20 starters from last year's 2-7 team. Coach Anderson is high on this group of players. He is quoted on the DSU website: "For the start of the season, it's been a lot of fun being around all the veterans again as well as seeing the new faces of the program," said Anderson. "The excitement is high and the competition is even higher. As a program, we've taken the proper steps with a year-round lifting program and fixed many problems through the summer workouts. We used the momentum from the end of the season last year and did a great job of finding depth, fixing problems and becoming academically sound as a whole. This program is shaping up nicely and coming along a lot faster than I anticipated which is exciting for everyone involved."
